We list our two favourites first but to be honest all of the private beaches have upped their game over the past couple of years and we have had good to great experiences at all of the ones we have tried. Directly next to La Goeland, so the second beach next to the Plage Publique, this is a great beach restaurant with lovely food and service. It is particularily good for vegetarians and vegans with good plant based choices on the menu. A great wine list with a number of wines by the glass including Whispering Angel sister wine to the amazing (and amazingly priced) Garrus. Highly recommended.

The first private beach as you walk away from the Majestic. This is a family run beach. Breakfast is lovely (see above). The beach restaurant has been completely refurbished in the winter of 2020. The service is friendly and the food reasonable though not that varied if you are planning on spending every day on the beach here. We feel it has slightly lost its way at the moment and that a revamp of the menu is needed to bring it up to date.

This restaurant is open almost the whole year round.

Changed again but they still don't get it. They have got rid of the dividers on the beach, we had to pay for the beach in advance (in case we ran off without paying I assume) and somehow did not feel welcome. The restaurant now appears to be serving just sushi and puddings, very odd. There are better beaches. Try Plage de Martinez, Miramar Plage or Rado Beach!!

This is an excellent place for breakfast next to the covered market Marché de Forville before or after shopping in the market. Breakfast is very good, coffee, hot chocolate, croissant, tartine, freshly squeezed orange juice, fruit salad and they would probably rustle you up some eggs if you wanted. Go for an early morning swim and round it off with breakfast.

Rosana is only a few hundred meters from the apartment. We finally tried Rosana twice in two days in February 2023 firstly for dinner with friends and then for Saturday brunch en famille. Both occasions the meals were wonderful. We really like this restaurant and being less than 100m from the apartment we can see it becoming a regular.

The lunch and dinner menu offers a very ecletic range of dishes and is very vegetarian and vegan friendly. Brunch is great, offering everything from eggs benedict to fluffy pancakes and delicious juices. Highly recommended.

It looks as of February 2023 as though the Voilier is closed permanently The only thing that is special about the Voilier is that you are having breakfast on the Croisette and that is fun. But the breakfast is nothing special and we have found the service to be off hand at best. I tried again on the morning of 27th October 2019 and after 15 minutes of being ignored (maybe I am invisible) I got up and walked out. Just don't bother. We have only eaten breakfast here.

This is a lovely and inexpensive Thai restaurant (the chef proprietor is Thai and her French husband is front of house), which opened in late 2021. The food is delicious and the menu is small enough to give one confidence that dishes are prepared to order. I can highly recommend the vegetarian spring rolls and the vegetarian Pad Thai. A large pizza and pasta restaurant at the beginning of the old town. I think I first ate at this restaurant in 1983 and I have never been disappointed. That said it has changed hands now and was not quite the amazing value that it was. Though you can still get a pizza and a beer for €17. It does exactly what it says on the tin. It is not fine dining and does not have pretensions to be but the food is good and the service is quick and excellent. Great, pasta, pizza and risotto. The restaurant is great value, extremely friendly and really buzzy.

We visited the restaurent by canoeing across from the Pointe Croisette to Ile Sainte-Marguerite and then round the west end of the island and then across to Ile Saint-Honorat where the Restaurant Tonnelle is sited on the north side of the island looking out over the sea to the Ile Sainte-Marguerite. You can however take the ferry over, which runs every hour on the hour between 08:00 and 18:00. The setting of the restaurnat is delightful right on the north shore of Saint-Honorat and the food delicious. The menu can be found here. Highly recommended by either canoe or ferry!!

Of course, there is the Palm d'Or in The Martinez with two Michelin stars. We have not yet eaten there, and I am not sure we will! The menu looks pretentious. To quote the Michelin online guide "In the sumptuous Art Deco setting of the Hotel Martinez, diners look down on La Croisette from a gastronomic peak. The chef creates spectacular cuisine that is sunny and creative, justly deserving of a Palme d'Or!" Need I say more!

The train line along the coast makes almost all the towns of the Côte d'Azur very accessible. Monaco is about an hour and 15 minutes by train but the scenary is so lovely that the journey passes quickly. Conde Nast Traveller Lists the "Riviera Railway" from Cannes to Ventimiglia as one of the best 10 in the world.

This is a bit different and may not be for everybody. But we think it is great fun. It is a table dd'hote restaurant. So starters are various hors d'oeuvres, which are placed on your table and you can help yourself. There is no choice of main course and then to finish a selection of puddings. We visited for the first time in October 2017 and loved it.

That said Antibes has literally hundreds of restaurants to choose from. TripAdvisor lists 585 as of May 2022.

This (very) upscale Japanese and Thai is (like all of the Pastor Group restaurants) fabulous. The decor is wonderful, the menu fantastic and extensive. But this is not a cheap restaurant. Expect to pay around €100 per head for dinner. That said they do offer a very reaonsonable lunch menu (starter/main/pudding, ½ Bottle of water, glass of wine and Coffee) for €29. Also have a look at their "refuge" in Meribel The Refuge de la Traye).

This, for me, is one of the best restaurants in France and should be visited at least once in life time. Art (and I mean art Picasso, Matisse etc) hangs everywhere, accepted in payment in years gone by for meals taken by the artist at this 100 year old restaurant. It still retains the character and charm of a bygone era. This is evident in the service and the food. Staff are delightful and efficient, the food amazing and the open air terrace is a wonder to dine on. Booking Essential.

Expect to pay between €80 and €100 a head.

This won't be for everyone as it is a 2kms walk from the apartment in the newly refurbished Port Canto area of Cannes but if you fancy a stroll down the Croisette followed by a cocktail or a beer away from the hubbub of central Cannes, then this is worth a visit. Opened in the second week of June 2021, the service is charming and the drinks reasonably prices at €16 for a cocktail. We will go back, as it suits us down to the ground!

This bar on top of the Five Hotel, which is just a stroll from the apartment, has been redecorated and we found it a bit cold but it might be better in summer. On our last visit in October 2020 we found it a bit sleazy, so not sure I would recommend it.
