We hope you find this information page helpful in preparing for your stay in our home in Winslow. Our web site can prove invaluable source of information. And of course we are only a phone call or email away to help you with any aspect of your stay.

Finding the property

The house is located at 14 Church Street, Winslow, Buckinghamshire MK18 3AN. Church Street is off Horn Street.

The GPS co-ordinates of the house are: 51.941704, -0.883731

Entry to the house

Key Safe:
Entry to the house is on a self check in basis by key in a key safe. You will be sent the code and check in instructions shortly before the start of your stay.

Inside the house you will find two further keys. The keys are on hooks by the front door. Please LEAVE these keys on the hooks when you leave. Failure to do so will result in a deduction from the security deposit.

Travelling to Winslow


There is no dedicated parking place for the property, but parking is not usually a problem.

The house, 14 Church Street, is indicated in BLUE on the Google Maps screenshot of the area below. With very few exceptions we have always managed to find parking in the places indicated in GREEN (on Horn Street and Church Street).

If it is not possible to park in one of the GREEN spaces then please park outside the house in the area marked in RED, ideally between the two stone doorsteps and as close to no. 14 as possible to allow our neighbours at no. 10 (Jane and Steve) directly opposite the front door and those living at in the Old Vicarage flats and going to the Guide Hut to pass easily alongside. But we would ask you to move the car to one of the spaces indicated in GREEN as soon as you are able to, so as not to upset the neighbours.


There is an electric vehicle charging point, which is available for guests use at no additional cost.

Important Information

Check – in

Check in time is anytime after 16:00 and without prior arrangement we would ask you not to arrive at the house before then. Sometimes in might be possible to gain access to the house earlier than 16:00 so please contact us if you would like an early check in.

Check out

We ask that you check out no later than 10:00. Please ensure that the house is vacated promptly at or before this time to enable our cleaning people to thoroughly clean the apartment for new guests.

In exceptional circumstances a late check out may be possible but this is only by prior arrangement.

On check out please ensure:

  • Place all rubbish(trash) in purple sacks and recycling in blue sacks and place in the alcove in the yard before you leave.
  • If you are leaving on a Sunday it would be much appreciated if you have the time to leave the rubbish or recycling as appropriate outside the front door.
  • Put all dishes into the dishwasher and put machine on short cycle.
  • Clear the fridge and shelves of any food you brought with you.
  • Anything that has been moved should be put back where it was found.
  • Check to make sure you have all your clothes.
  • Check the bathroom.
  • Check the kitchen/living room.
  • There is no need to strip the beds but please leave all towels in the bathroom.
  • Please ensure that all the windows are locked and the window stops are in place.
  • Please leave two keys hanging up by the front door.
  • Lock the bottom front door lock by key.
  • Return the third key to the key safe.

Just before departure could you please reply to this email with a photo of the keys hanging on their hooks. Thank you.

This is a NON SMOKING property. Smoking is permitted in the rear court yard.


The house can be locked by key and is equipped with a safe for guests use. However, Michael and Karen Broom Smith or their agents can take no responsibility for loss or theft from the house. Please bear this in mind if you are bringing valuables with you.


The house is equipped with a security safe in bedroom 1. We recommend that you use it for your valuables, passports etc. Please ensure that it is left open on departure.

Maximum Occupancy

The maximum number of guests is limited to five people over the age of 2 years of age.


One set of bed linen and towels are provided for the duration of your stay but if you would like changes of linen during your stay this can be arranged at an additional charge by prior arrangement.

Linen must not be taken out of the house.

Daily Housekeeping Service

The house is cleaned ready for you arrival and on your departure but there is no daily house keeping or other services of this nature provided during your stay. If you require daily house keeping during your stay please let us know in advance. It is not usually possible to arrange this at short notice I am afraid.

Air Conditioning
A mobile air conditioner is provide for your use.


The central heating has been preset but it can be controlled from the Hive app on the iPad in the kitchen and the heating can be boosted or turned up or down temporarily with the thermostat in the office. If you have any issues with the heating please contact Michael.


Electrical current is 240 volts AC, 50 Hz. Plugs are U.K. three pin plugs with some sockets having USB sockets.


It is your responsibility to ensure that you are adequately insured for your holiday (cancellation, curtailment, baggage loss, injury/accident, other medical emergencies, loss or damage to the apartment etc). Please remember to bring your insurance documents with you.



1. Your tickets, passport and visas (if required). Please check that your passport is valid for the duration of the holiday; we recommend that the validity extends for at least 6 months beyond your planned date of return.

2. Your credit cards (MasterCard or Visa cards and your debit card with their PIN numbers, and a small quantity of Sterling.


The house is equipped with a Apple TV, Netflix and Sonos. There is a small selection of traditional games but do feel free to bring your own.


You do not need to bring towels, hair driers or linen.
